About
My name is Makaila Palmer and I am a Laguna Beach, California based artist that creates elegant and delicate jewelry. I have recently graduated from California State University of Long Beach with my Bachelors in Fine Arts and currently exhibit at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach.
My jewelry incorporates different organic patterns found in nature. I integrate unusual textures, suedes, geometric shapes, and semi-precious stones to construct a contemporary line of jewelry. All my pieces are one of a kind and handmade using one of two processes: lost wax casting and wire wrapping.
In lost wax casting, I sculpt unique designs out of wax, make molds of them and cast each piece in sterling silver. While in the wire wrapping process, I utilize specific tools to shape different types of wire into original jewelry pieces.
